Causes
While andropause is associated with a decline in testosterone, and particularly bioavailable testosterone, the amount of that decline doesn't necessarily predict the severity of signs and symptoms. While it's certainly true that some men have declining levels of bioavailable testosterone and experience no symptoms at all, relatively small changes in any individual can create the significant changes associated with andropause, and all the physical, mental and psycho-emotional changes associated with it. This makes the awareness of a baseline before the age related decline begins, i.e. in the early 40's, increasingly useful.
