Stress
A doctor once noted that "stress is a great word for engineers but a lousy word for doctors". This is because engineers can actually measure stress, whereas in people, it means different things to everyone - one person's stress can be another person's exhilaration. It's fair to say that the kinds of stress people generally refer to, i.e. physical, from an injury or illness, or psycho-emotional be it work, relationship or other, can have a significant impact on testosterone, and andropausal symptoms.
Some physical stresses can lower testosterone levels, while psycho-emotional issues can lead to disrupted sleep, which in turn can lower testosterone levels and increase stress. Eating properly, getting regular exercise and adequate sleep, and limiting cigarettes, alcohol and caffeine can go a long way to help avoiding these stress related problems. In addition, discussing problems with your doctor may also be of significant help, and should be strongly considered when it begins to have a significant impact on your life.
